| For
the fifth consecutive year, members
of the Intermountain Pagan Community have shown their love and compassion for those in need by playing "Holly King" and gifting clients through the Season's Givings Project of the Utah AIDS Foundation. In Pagan terms,
this is the Season of the Holly King, when Light shines in the Darkness,
and Love is manifest. This was our opportunity to feel a bit of the Spirit
of Giving for those less fortunate than ourselves.

At
Aspen Grove Yule, donations were collected, not only the items requested
by our clients but over 100 pounds of food for the AIDS Pantry Community
Food Bank.
As part of the Yule Rite, our offerings were blessed in a ceremony that wished even further prosperity and good fortune to the recipients. We called upon Spirit to accept our offerings. We shared a lunch of soup, bread, coffee and hot cider to remind us of how fortunate we are to be able to eat as we wish. |
At
the end of our rite, several of us went down with a pot of soup, an urn
of coffee, a pot of cider, and bread rolls, to the St. Vincent de Paul
Center where there were many people standing in the cold with nothing to
eat and no shelter. We took much joy in giving them a hot meal and treating
them like the precious human beings they are. Many thanks to all who made
these good things happen.
